This event will allow you to connect with an instructor, an advisor, and current chemistry students. By joining us via Zoom for this Q&A, you can connect with the people who can answer all your questions about majoring in chemistry and the student experience in the College of Science.
The AMA panel will include:
- Christine Pastorek is a senior instructor and lead academic advisor for the Department of Chemistry. She helped develop OSU's Integrated Laboratory program for chemistry majors. As part of this program, she teaches Experimental Chemistry II advanced lab courses for junior and senior chemistry majors that emphasize first-hand experiences using modern scientific instrumentation.
- Margie Haak is a senior instructor who teaches first-year general chemistry courses and serves as an academic advisor for students in the Chemistry Education option. She is also involved in science outreach to the community, presenting about 20 Family Science & Engineering Nights at elementary schools in the Willamette Valley and Siletz each year.
- Madeline Bloom is a College of Science peer advisor and junior chemistry major with an option in forensic science and an Honors College student from Medford, Oregon. As a peer advisor, Madeline can answer any questions you have and help you register for classes, apply for scholarships and give virtual tours of the College of Science.
- Maylita Brougher is a graduating senior chemistry student from Eugene, Oregon. She has experience with OSU's degree partnership program, online classes, undergraduate research in multiple labs, on-campus and co-op housing options, community volunteering and much more!
