The College of Science is delighted to have two doctoral students among the 24 young scientists and engineers selected as 2017 ARCS Foundation Oregon scholars.

Twenty five percent of freshmen are the first in their family to attend college, 23 percent are underrepresented minorities, and the College has the highest ever number of high achieving students in this incoming class: 37.6 percent.

The College of Science supported eight students at the 2017 Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science conference last week in Salt Lake City.

The Career Development Advanced Career Bootcamp for science students will take place on Saturday, October 28.

Science students receive second highest number of scholarships at OSU totaling more than $7.5 million, more than triple the amount awarded in 2015.

The College graduated a record 629 students with baccalaureate degrees, 64 master's and 66 doctoral students in 2016-17.

Thirty-four science majors presented their research at the Celebrating Undergraduate Excellence event sponsored by the Division of Undergraduate Studies.

Go Beavs! Sixteen science majors who are members of an OSU athletics team were recognized for their achievement in maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA at the Oregon State Athletics Academic Achievement Dinner.

More than 1,500 elementary school children will participate in Discovery Days, one of OSU's most popular and beloved traditions, on May 2-3, 2017.
