OSU students wishing to change their major to chemistry, add a chemistry major as a second major, or chemistry majors who wish to add an option or change an option should do the following:
Please contact the Lead Chemistry Advisor to schedule a meeting .
- Students are required to be in good academic standing at OSU to change to a chemistry major.
- All chemistry majors are required to complete required courses in the chemistry core and one chemistry option, the OSU Bacc Core, and often have ~27 credits of general electives remaining to meet the OSU requirement of 180 credits. This gives students freedom to explore other areas of interest or concentrate on adding a minor in another area, i.e, toxicology, oceanography, biology, foreign language, etc.
- The Chemistry option is a focus area of about 9-10 courses targeting careers in chemistry and guide students to expand their knowledge base.
Please review the OSU Catalog on the variety of options in the chemistry major before meeting with the Lead Chemistry Advisor.
